Appeals
Appeals Process
What happens if my appeal is rejected?
If your appeal has been refused, you have 2 options: to pay or to appeal, you cannot do both:
- Pay the Parking Charge Notice (PCN).
- If we reject your appeal we will give you the reason and if applicable provide you with a 10 digit verification code to appeal to POPLA.
POPLA is an independent appeals service which you may use only after your appeal has been rejected by us. Note if your POPLA appeal is unsuccessful you will no longer be able to pay the discounted rate.
Your Parking Charge Notice (PCN) will be on hold until a final decision has been made by POPLA. If the decision to allow your appeal has been made by POPLA your Parking Charge Notice (PCN) will be cancelled, however if your appeal has been refused you will have 28 days to pay the full rate of your Parking Charge Notice (PCN).
Please ensure that any Appeal must be received by us within 28 days including the date of issue of your Parking Charge Notice (PCN). Where appeals are received after this time period, they will not be considered.
Your appeal must include your name and address, the registration number of the vehicle, your Parking Charge Notice (PCN) reference number and the date of issue. The appeal should state the reasons why you feel that your Parking Charge Notice (PCN) should be cancelled.
You must write to:
UK PARKING ENFORCEMENT LTD
Parking Admin Centre
400 Dashwood Lang Road
Bourne Business Park
Addlestone
Surrey
KT15 2NX
Or you can submit an appeal by website: www.paymyparkingcharge.com and to access the portal, you would need the Parking Charge reference number and Vehicle registration number.
If your Parking Charge Notice (PCN) does inform you to appeal directly to UK Parking enforcement Ltd, the following policy applies:
Details of how to appeal are stated on the reverse of your Parking Charge Notice (PCN) issued to you. Please ensure that you read the appeal instructions on your Parking Charge Notice (PCN) carefully and follow them as we will not forward any appeals we receive that are not to be carried out by us. You must contact the correct party as stated on the reverse of your Parking Charge Notice (PCN) including any subsequent correspondence.
Refusal to pay:
Don’t just ignore the parking charge, because you can be sure we won’t. If we don’t receive payment from you we will pass your details on to a registered debt recovery agency, and you may also become liable for the costs they incur as a result.
If you still refuse to pay we may commence court proceedings against you.
All appeals that are completed in full as per this guidance are responded to; please allow 28 days for a reply. If you do not receive a response within 28 days please contact our office who will advise further – DO NOT consider an appeal successful if no response is received. If you submit an appeal and you do not follow this guidance in full and complete all details required your appeal will not be dealt with, please make sure you complete your appeal correctly so that we can assist you as quickly and promptly as possible.
